Nigeria once again has been thrown into another round of grief following the shocking death of former Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu, who passed away June 11, Friday. This comes three days after the death of former Super Eagles Captain and Coach Stephen Keshi.

Date of birth/ Origin

Shuaibu Amodu born 18 April, 1958, hailed from Edo state.

Position

He was technical director of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), and former coach of the Super Eagles. The four-time coach of the national team was appointed technical director of the Eagles in April 2016.

Technical director of Bendel insurance F.C, NFF Technical Director , Reappointed Super Eagles manager replacing Stephen Keshi in 2014.

Nigeria/ Shuaibu Amodu

Amodu first managed the Nigerian national team on three different occassions; from April 2001 to February 2002, while also taking the reins in April 2008 and October 2014.

Accomplishements
Amodu led Nigeria to the AFCON bronze medal in 2002 and Angola 2010, FA Cup titles – BCC Lions of Gboko and El kaneme warriors. Under him the Nigerian Super Eagles qualified fot the 2010 world cup in South Africa.

Sack

The former technical adviser of the country’s national team was fired twice; in 2002, when Nigeria finished third at the 2002 Nations Cup, Malu. While in 2010, he was given the boot despite the teams third place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

Shuaibu Amodu, passed on Friday night shortly after complaining of chest pain, He was 58.
