We celebrate film star Mel Gibson as he turns a year older
Mel Colmcille Gerard Gibson, proudly one of Hollywood’s outstanding talents is credited for writing and directing The Passion of the Christ, which became a cult classic amongst Christian viewers and also received major criticism following its portrayal of the Jews.
After a decade of absence, following major backlash received following anti -semitic comments about the Jews, Mel Gibson returned to directing recently with the film Hacksaw Ridge, which has been received warmly.
The superstar directed and starred in the 1995 film Braveheart which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. His best known roles as an actor include Martin Riggs in the Lethal Weapon series and the title character in the Mad Max series. He also starred in The Patriot and directed the critically-acclaimed films Apocalypto and Hacksaw Ridge.
He married Robyn Denise Moore on June 7, 1980 and divorced her in 2011. He has a total of eight children, six sons and two daughters.
Mel Gibson turns 61
Born Oluremi James, she is best known as a star on the VH1 reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
At the age of 13, she was abandoned by her mother Olaiya Odufunke after her mother became a Scientologist. From there, Mimi learned to become a strong independent woman on her own.
She has a daughter named Eva. Her father passed away in May 2014.
