It would seem history repeats itself, as the Senior Special Assistant on Security, Denen Igbana was gruesomly killed last year by unknown assailants, yet again, the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has lost another aide to unidentified assassins.
News from Benue State, reports the death of the Special Assistant to Governor Ortom on Knowledge, Economy and Investments, Tavershima Adyorough, He was murdered early Sunday morning at his residence in BIPC Estate Nyiman, Makurdi by unknown gunmen.
Adyorough was purportedly killed by these gunmen, who invaded his residence in the wee hours of yesterday and also shot his wife, who is being hospitalized as a result of her injury. In a statement issued by the Governor, through his Special Adviser on Media, Tever Akase, the Governor condemned the killing, and described it as unacceptable, while requesting that relevant security agencies, must swing into action and arrest those behind the dastardly act.
“The Governor sympathizes with the immediate family of the deceased, the government and people of the state on the loss and pledges that he would support security agencies in apprehending the culprits. He urges those with useful information that can lead to the arrest to make same available”, said Akase.
