Boko Haram launches radio station: 4 things we know

Reports making rounds say infamous terrorist sect Boko Haram has launched a radio station. Here are four facts according to Voice of America (Hausa service):

  • The FM station is broadcasting on 96.8 frequency.
  • Residents of Tolkomari village, North Cameroon confirmed being able to tune in to the channel.
  • According to reports from VoA, the station broadcast programmes to counter media reports of victory claims by troops from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic against the sect.
  • Efforts are being made by the ‎Cameroonian government to locate the radio station and dismantle it
