The Buhari Youth Organisation, Lagos Chapter, is calling on the Kwara State Government to define the meaning of refunds allegedly made by the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Bukola Saraki, former Kwara State Governor in express and factual terms, describing the claim as a mere tree without branches and roots.

BYO insists that refunds are not meant to be mere directives but reactive, stressing that it is not palatable to the public that Kwara State owed an Ex-Governor or a former Chief Executive Officer of a state, who served, administered, governed to make life better for the residence and sovereignty despite being wealthier than the state as claimed and defended by Paul Usoro at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on March 8th, 2016 but ended up making the state more impoverished and bankrupt to the point that the state was at his mercy begging for moratorium.

Besides, the financial books and other related correspondence of the state ought to be presented to the public as evidences to back the claims of the Kwara State Government that earned the moratorium of 4 years until the Chief Creditor, Lender of last resort to Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, decided to pardon the state as claimed by the reports of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Gold, in accordance with the said letter dated August 20 2015, pardoning and ordering the State to stop further payment of Pension, deducting pensions paid from moneys owed to him and outstanding lawful entitlement.

Pension is meant to be a regular payment in form of wages as a compensation by the state or organisation to persons at retirement typically due to age or ill-health and other forms of incapacitation that will not enable such persons to act or work in full state he or she was while in service. All public officers who are still capable of acting and are also engaged directly in Public offices should not be entitled to this compensation called Pension any further. We expect that the respective Lawmakers at the three-tier levels encode this for the executives to ratify at the expense of the dying masses who needs various social services but lack the means to access it.

It will go a long way for the public and the people of Kwara state if the State government can be transparent enough by availing the public with the facts, figures and supporting documentations to fossilize these assertions.
