#OndoDecides: APC Candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu Declared Winner
Senior Advocate of Nigeria and candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Rotimi Akeredolu, has been formally declared winner of the November 26, 2016 Ondo governorship election.
This was made known on Sunday by Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Ambali, the Chief Returning Officer in the election.
Mr. Akeredolu won in 14 of Ondo’s 18 local governments, scoring 244, 842 votes to clinch victory.
Eyitatyo Jegede of the PDP came second with 150,380 votes while Olusola Oke of the AD scored 126,889 votes to come third.
Mr. Akeredolu will take over office from the outgoing governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko of the PDP.
