2015  – Over 3.5 million people in Paris and across France stage unity rallies to protest the recent Islamist terrorist attack on the offices of French satire magazine ‘Charlie Hebdo’.

2014 –  After eight years in a coma following a stroke in 2006, Ariel Sharon, Israel’s former Prime Minister, dies at the age of 85.

1913 – The first enclosed sedan-type automobile, a Hudson, went on display at the 13th National Automobile Show in New York.
