Extra measures are being taken to ensure adequate security for National Youth Corps members who would be participating in the February general elections says an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Cross River, Dr. Okay Ezeanyi, speaking Friday at the NYSC Secretariat in the state said, “It is the duty of INEC to provide adequate security for corps members, who will be used as ad hoc staff for the 2015 elections”
“I want to say that INEC is making you its priority in the forthcoming general elections,” he added.
Meanwhile, Corp members would be mobilized twice this year in just two batches 2015 Batch ‘A’ and ‘B’ unlike previous years.
This was disclosed by the management of the National Youth Service Corps, through the director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Bose Aderibigbe.
Following the development, NYSC 2015 Batch ‘A’ orientation course will now hold from May 5 – May 26, 2015 unlike previous years which held in March, in order to allow for continuity of NYSC Corp members in the forth coming 2015 general elections.
