Blake Lively gave birth to her 4-month-old daughter James last December, and her life has changed in a lot of ways since then.
“Well this, first of all, has changed,” the first-time mom said (via People) while gesturing to her chest during an appearance on “Live! With Kelly and Michael” on Tuesday, April 21.
The 27-year-old “Gossip Girl” star then admitted that she’s become a lot more paranoid since welcoming her daughter with husband Ryan Reynolds. “You see a balcony and you’re like, ‘Oh, my God! The hotel needs to demolish this balcony because my child can’t go anywhere near it.’ Everything is just so much more heightened,” she said. “We’re crying all the time for no reason.”
And because she’s hands-on in taking care of her baby girl, Lively isn’t getting enough sleep. “I slept two hours last night,” she said.
But she’s fine with it, as she’s getting help from Reynolds. The actress revealed that she and her hubby share diaper changing duties, and even joked that the 38-year-old “Daredevil” actor now “smells like poop.”
In addition, Lively seems to be very good when it comes to babies, as she revealed to People that she’s “always taking care of other people’s kids.”
“I’m always teasing my sisters’ kids that they are my own,” she told publication shortly after giving birth. “Maybe because I didn’t grow up with little siblings, I’ve been making up for lost time. I’ve always felt like a mama.”
Lively also told the magazine that she looks to her own mother for inspiration.”I was raised by a woman who was eternally optimistic. Nearly every day my mom will leave me a voice mail saying, ‘Life is a bowl of cherries,’ or singing songs,” she said, as quoted by E! News. “She came from humble beginnings, but if you told her she’d experienced hardship, she’d say, ‘I have not!’ She chose happiness, and she taught me to do the same every day.'”
Lively will be next seen in the romantic drama film “The Age of Adaline,” which opens in theaters on Friday, April 24.
