14 Years After Jaiye Aboderin’s Death, Punch Chairman,Wale Aboderin Dies of Heart Failure

Wale Aboderin, the amiable chairman of Punch Newspaper is dead. He gave up the ghost around 6:05am Wednesday morning, 30th May 2018. Wale died 14 years after the death of his younger brother, Jaiye Aboderin.

Although news of his death is still being kept under wraps, Happenings reliably gathered that his remains have been deposited at TOS funeral, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos.

Further checks revealed that he came back from spain three weeks ago. According to our source, he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in spain, because he lost consciousness in the aircraft.

There, he was told his heart had a problem and he needed surgery. He declined having his heart surgery abroad, but opted to have it done in Nigeria. So he came back to Nigeria two weeks ago and had his heart surgery at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, where he survived the operation.

But sadly, he gave up the ghost yesterday morning at 6:05am. The deceased was indeed a pillar of support to so many in this country. He is the elder brother of Jaiye Aboderin, who slumped while playing basketball and he is also related to veteran musician, Wunmi Obe.

He was the founder of Dolphins Basketball Foundation. He is Survived by a wife and two children.
