Mrs Aisha Buhari, Wife of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari,in a bid to fulfill her promise to the people of Kano, after 2200 women graduated from a skill acquisition training , has ensured that a second batch of beneficiaries, have received skill acquisition coaching.
They were trained in the areas of paint making, leather works, barbing, rabbit and cat fish farming. The training which was conducted mostly for the young men in Kano, is consistent with the objective of Mrs. Buhari’s programme called ‘Future Assured’, which is for the youths, women and children.
Her message at the opening ceremony, was delivered by the Coordinator of the Future Assured Programme in Kano state, Mrs. Ramatu Mukhtar Rabiu. Where she charged the beneficiaries to use the skills they have acquired in building sustainable businesses to pull themselves out of poverty and help other youths.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Mrs. Buhari for giving them the opportunity to chart a viable economic course for themselves, as they have learned useful and sustainable skills.
The week long training which began on Monday, 31st of October 2017, was concluded on Friday, 3rd of November 2017.
A breakdown of the skill acquisition training indicate that barbing, rabbit and cat fish farming received 100 beneficiaries each; leather works received 50 beneficiaries; while paint making received the highest beneficiaries with 150 participants.
