Ali Baba To Feature On CNN African Voices

It’s been a long time coming.

The Cable News Network (CNN) will this weekend air the profile Alibaba who is generally referred to as the godfather of Nigerian comedy, on the network’s programme – African Voices.

The stand-up comedian and OAP whose real name, Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere will be sharing with comedy lovers how he had played a major role in transforming a trade once seen as fit for “never do wells” into not just serious business, but a well respected profession.

He also lets viewers into his house where he has a space he calls “the jokes factory” because it is filled with materials like Readers Digest magazines and Shakespeare works which inspire his stand-up routines.

Ali Baba’s feature which has been recorded, will be aired on CNN International at 4.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Saturday and at 12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Sunday. Viewers can also watch the show during the repeat broadcasts on Monday at 11:30 a.m. and on Tuesday at 5.30 a.m.
