Bomb Making Factory Discovered at Okpella: Gov. Obaseki Summons Police, DSS

The residents of Okpella, in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo state, were thrown into pandemonium and confusion on Tuesday, when it was discovered that a bomb making factory is actually in their community.

According to an eyewitness who wanted to simply be identified as Mary, the building was occupied by people who were thought to be farmers and were living with their wives and children.

Unfortunately for the bomb makers, one of the bombs exploded, killing one of them, and this was how the true situation of things was discovered by members of the community.

When it became apparent that their cover had blown, the bomb makers, according to Mary, “quickly started parking the bombs and other weapons into their car to escape, while members of the community gave them a hot pursuit.”

“They ended up on a dead end road. Then they abandoned their vehicle and weapons and ran into the Bush. Nevertheless, one of them was arrested, including two of their wives and children. They are presently in the Police custody at Okpella Police station.”

Meanwhile, the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has condemned the unfortunate development in strong terms.

The Governor also directed the commissioner of police and the Director of Department of State Services (DSS) in the state, to commence immediate search for explosives and other weapons and dis-arm any and every militia or related groups operating in the community.
