In a highly anticipated match between the last African Country at the FIFA World Cup 2018, Senegal and rival Colombia, See here Africa was edged out of the tournament.
This heartbreaking turn of events has left Africans in despair. Senegal’s move to the next stage, which is the round of 16 was hinged on a victory against the Colombians, sadly in the 74th minute, Colombian player, Y. Mina scored a lone goal against the Lions of Teranga.
Interestingly, Senegal may have qualified for the next stage, as it had the same points with Japan in the Group H table, however they were removed from the tournament based on the number of yellow cards received in the course of the World Cup.
Recall that Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Nigeria have been sent packing from the FIFA World Cup 2018, currently being hosted in Russia.
At this point, Africa says goodbye to World Cup 2018, till the year 2022 in Quatar.
