The actress first gained recognition for portraying Annie James and Hallie Parker, twins separated shortly after birth, in the 1998 Disney comedy The Parent Trap. She won several MTV Movie Awards for her starring role in Mean Girls in 2004 and she also played lead roles in Herbie: Fully Loaded and Freaky Friday.
As a singer, her 2004 debut music album Speak went platinum. She followed up with her certified gold 2005 album A Little More Personal (Raw).
She dated singer and DJ Samantha Ronson from 2008 to 2009 and later got engaged to Egor Tarabasov in 2016, but they later broke up.
The actress returned to Hollywood in 2016 with the film “The Shadow Within” after a rocky career which bred negative publicity for years following her controversial lifestyle.
Lindsay turns 31.
