It was an enchanting and rewarding evening for guests on Sunday as Eko Hotels & Suites, unveiled its EKO SPA Beauty and wellness paradise, an initiative driven by Apples and Oranges, a leading total body therapy salon located in the highbrow area of Victoria Island, in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial Capital.
The event which held by the exotic poolside of the hotel, attracted dignitaries from a cross section of the society, from business owners, top professionals and expatriates, many of whom have experienced overtime, the lavished treatment of Apples and Oranges at its Balarabe Musa location.
Attired elegantly in garbs that suited the cool evening air, guests made their entrance into the expansive terrace of Eko Hotel and Suites leading to the event venue with eager expectations – in the background, the Platinum Blazers crooned the atmosphere with familiar tunes from way-back.
Soon, the guests took their turns on the Red Carpet, where the young and tireless lady boss of Apple and Oranges Mrs. Beatrice Ene dressed in her flowing shimmering green dress, received them with a charming smile and a hug that said ‘real grateful to have you here’.
Soon it was time to get to the business of the day as Chicago, the chubby fair-skinned compere, in her pretty ‘huggy’ cream and black dress mounted the stage, inviting Mrs Igueli Adetiba, whose graceful look was untainted by the streaks of grey hair, to take the opening prayer.
The cocktail event, sponsored by Cointreau, remained charged with lively music and talk on fitness and wellness before guests were led to the indoor area for the cutting of tape to officially declare open the spacious and state-of-the-art gym, the unisex salon and spa centre.
Speaking at the event, General Manager of Eko Hotels and Suites Mr. Danny Kioupouroglou, said the hotel is always interested in doing “something new” and the had taken up the proposition to set up the gym and spa as part of its offers to clients, having realized that “there was something missing.”
He explained that the hotel had doubled the size of the gym and added the spa operated by Apple and Oranges (which had an excellent record in the business of wellness), to offer nice massages from trained masseurs.
Earlier, Dr. Vivian Oputa a dermatologist spoke on the need for regular exercise, in addition to drinking adequate water and taking balanced diet for proper body fitness. She noted that the Eko Spa, apart from being well equipped to meet the needs of customers in the business of beauty, fitness and wellness, was also an approved center for therapeutic products from Biologique Recherche Skin Instant Lab.
Queen Ahneva, on air personality at Classic FM, who also spoke at the evnt,admonished Lagosians to take time off from the ‘hussle and bussle’ of the city life and give themselves a good treat.
The event was spiced up with complimentary services for the first 20 guests, Canapes , Free Skin consultation and raffle tickets, which included a trip to Dubai, just as promised.
Guests rocked the evening with musical performances from Nikki La oye and danced to the melodious tunes by the young and talented saxophonist, Yhumie who delivered old school songs and progressed to top of the chart tracks to round off the event, which coincided with the birthday of Mr. Oby Ene, hubby to Apple and Orange boss.
