Ex-Reps Speaker Dimeji Bankole Eyes On Ogun Governorship Seat

by Tunde Ogunmola

The former House of Representatives Speaker, Hon. Dimeji Bankole has throw his hat in the political ring once again. The Ogun State born politician who has been away from the political limelight, for a few years, is taking a shot at the Ogun State Governorship seat in 2019.

However, he is yet to officially make known this political aspiration to run for Ogun State Governorship seat, although subtle inferences has been made, showing his intentions to succeed Governor Ibikunle Amosun, as branded buses with his  gubernatorial ambitions are sighted around Abeokuta in Ogun state.

These buses, according to sources, are plying major roads in Ogun State with campaign songs, eulogising the once controversial former Speaker. Dimeji Bankole, was elected as the youngest Speaker of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2007 at age 37. He is a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under which platform he will, probably contest for the number one seat in Ogun State.
