Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has relieved a Permanent Secretary in charge of the Office of Establishment in the State Civil Service, Tunde Alokan of his duties, Punch reports.
It was learnt that Alokan was sacked because of his alleged closeness to the former State Governor and Chief Strategist to Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign team, Kayode Fayemi.
Fayose, however dismissed the allegation that Alokan was sacked based on his closeness to Kayode Fayemi.
He said as the Chief Executive Officer of the State, he has been empowered by the Constitution to hire and fire any political appointee at will.
Fayemi appointed Alokan as permanent secretary in January 2012.
