The Governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa, in a ridiculous and surprising move, has authorized the sale of Delta Line to God is Good Motors (GIG), the interstate transport giant for N131million, while snubbing the whooping offer of N2Billion from the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Delta chapter.

However, this move has adverse effects, as it has led to the prompt sack of 730 workers, who are not compensated. More scandal unraveled as a reliable source divulged to Happenings .com.ng that Okowa deliberately devalued the company because he is buying by proxy, while using GIG motors as a front to facilitate this nefarious deal.

Additional information from Sahara Reporters has it that, “The real part of the deal between, which is yet unknown to most people, is that Mr. Okowa is the real buyer of the company but has decided to use the God Is Good Motors as front and after five years, the company’s name will be changed,” the top government official told SaharaReporters.

“It was because of that the governor directed Mr. Edevbie to advertise for bids, which was a formality, as the transport company was sold for N161 million and a bid of N2billion by the NLC was turned down.”

It is noteworthy that the relationship between Ifeanyi Okowa and GIG motors is a mutually beneficial one, as the interstate transport company, contributed brand new Mercedes Benz buses to Okowa’s Governorship campaign.

  1. It must have also been a way to give back to GIG for the contribution they made during his campaign, how they had to sack workers tho. So now GIG after buying at a very steep price couldn’t just keep up with paying salaries with the monetary margin btw NLC’s bid and theirs. What a world? I hope the airline doesn’t fold like the others that make the rounds these days sha… Just saying
