Indeed, Governor Ibikunle Amosun is one of the most influential governors in Nigeria. His growing influence can be traced to his cordial relation with the Muhammadu Buhari, from the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP), before the party merger that transformed to the All Progressive Party (APC). Amosun enjoys robust relationship with the President and the Vice, which arguably gives him a considerable level of pedigree and political clout.
As his tenure as the governor of Ogun rounds off, his administration is currently actualizing some road projects across the state, amid the swirling complains from government workers being owed over ten months by the state government.
Weeks before the wedding of his daughter, a substantial amount of money was reportedly moved into the state. The governor completed his palatial mansion situated at 1st Avenue Ibara Housing – the Italian construction workers were said to have been working day and night to deliver the gigantic underground concrete house.
High-cost furniture were imported from overseas and was moved into the house. Some have described it as the mansion as Heaven on Earth, Mecca of some sort. Many people have been trooping to the place with their mouths agape upon seeing
the architectural masterpiece, well-fitted with the best of luxury and sophisticated house wares.
Another property linked to the governor is a nine story high-rise building located opposite Ibara bridge in the heart of Abeokuta. The property under construction is a proposed shopping complex built for the governor’s wife, Mrs Olufunke Amosun. The property on completion would be the best and most expensive shopping complex in Abeokuta. The building is so visible to all Abeokuta inhabitants because of its height.
