Bayern Munich have signed Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez on a two-year loan deal.
The 25-year-old, who signed a six-year contract at Real after joining from Monaco for £71m in July 2014, made just 22 appearances in La Liga last season.
The Colombia captain was also left out as Zinedine Zidane’s side beat Juventus in the Champions League final.
He had been linked with a summer move to both Premier League champions Chelsea and Manchester United.
A statement on the Real Madrid website read: “Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have agreed to the transfer of James Rodriguez for the next two seasons, subject to a medical.
“Bayern Munich reserves the right to purchase the player at the end of the transfer period.”
His performances at the 2014 World Cup earned the move to Madrid. He was the top scorer in Brazil and was also named in the team of the tournament as he led Colombia to the quarter-finals.
