Adewale was among the aspirants who participated in the controversial centralized primaries of APC at Teslim Balogun Stadium which ended in fiasco, but Mojeed Balogun’s name was said to have been sent to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) as the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ikeja LG.
To this end, Mojeed was said to have been duly recognized by Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), and was given certificate of return by LASIEC after being declared the winner.
Meanwhile, Adewale was said to have been given repeated assurances by some leaders of the party in Ikeja that he will be the one to be sworn in instead of Mojeed.
It was this assurances that empowered Adewale to storm the venue of the swearing-in with well-wishers and supporters with high expectations.
Alas, he was dead wrong, he returned home disappointed as his hope was dashed.
As at the time of filling this report, Hon. Mojeed Balogun is the incumbent Chairman of Ikeja LG area of Lagos.
