From all indications, Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has made up his mind to dump the ruling party, APC as more of his supporters are leaving the party.

Barely four days after Amosun’s governorship candidate, Adekunle Akinlade announced his defection from APC, more have also dumped the party.

Amosun’s loyalists numbering about 26 on  Monday reportedly defected from APC to the Allied People’s movement (APM).

Many decamped to APM following the irregularities that marred the last primary election held on October 8, 2018, in the state.

The aggrieved members who are mostly loyal to Amosun moved to APM to restore their hope and re-capture their lost mandate freely given to them by Ogun indigenes.

One of the defectors, Olatunji while addressing the media on Monday said they moved to another party after extensive and due consultation with the party elders.

He noted that APM has given them a platform to explore in the 2019 general elections.

“In APM we will work hard and make sure Adekunle Akinlade win Ogun State governorship come 2019″, Olatunji added.

Olatunji in his further submission exonerated Amosun from leaving the party and noted that they are old enough to take the decision.
