President Muhammadu Buhari has approved N30,000 as the new national minimum wage.
Jubilation greeted several states such as Kano Oyo and Ebonyi States.
Workers were in a joyous mood and seen celebrating in their various ministries at the newly approved national minimum wage.
Buhari in his words said the payment might be difficult at the beginning but he is optimistic that there will be a way out.
Buhari, however, stressed the need to have a better new National Minimum Wage Act in future.
Elated civil servants across the country have praised the federal government for working in mutual understanding with the Nigerian Labour Congress, arriving at a preferred figure and at the same time averting the proposed industrial strike action by NLC.
