The political games in preparation for the 2019 elections is getting heated, as the embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is on a quest to unseat their arch rivals, the All Progressive Congress (APC), from the presidency come 2019 general elections.
PDP is getting positive response, as three candidates have indicated their interest, in contesting for the presidential seat under the party.
First to declare his interest was Peter Ayodele Fayose, Governor of Ekiti state, he made this known at a mega convergence in Abuja. Former Jigawa state Governor, Mallam Sule Lamido, who wrote a letter to the authority of the PDP, also declared his interest, to be the party’s flag bearer for the 2019 presidential elections.
The latest candidate jostling to pick up the party’s presidential ticket, is former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau, and he has indicated his interest to run for the presidency in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Happenings.com.ng gathered that; Shekarau, who is also a former Minister of Education, sent a notification letter to the PDP, of his intention to run for the presidency.
Shekarau is said to have communicated his political ambition to various elders, community leaders, opinion leaders, political associates and religious leaders regardless of their ethnic and party affiliations.
