Stella Monye is one Nigerian singer who needs no introduction, as her songs remain ever green. Thirty years since the release of her hit tracks ‘Oko mi ye’ and ‘Kilode’, they still remain music many still dance to and appreciate.
Indeed, Monye has come a long way, she dabbled in activism for a time, with six albums to her credit and over three decades in the business, she surely ranks among the top female musicians in Nigeria with, Christy Essien Igbokwe, Onyeka Onwenu and others.
Happenings.com.ng learned from the grapevine that Stella Monye made an appearance in a new movie produced by Yomi Fabiyi titled ‘Agbede Meji’ (Crossroad). Fueling rumours that the singer is giving acting a second thought. Interestingly, her fans both at home and abroad, who watched her debut appearance in the movie, found her skill as an actress quite satisfactory.
When Happenings.com.ng spoke with Monye exclusively, she revealed that, “Many do not know I am a Theatre Art graduate. Singing is my first love, but acting is my career”.
She promised to feature in more Nollywood movies, as her comeback into the entertainment Scene.
