Ooni of Ife, Oba Babatunde Adeyeye Ogunwusi has perfected plans to take Moremi celebration to Lagos.
The aim is to empower Nigerian women with values of courage and strength as demonstrated by the late Queen Moremi Ajasoro.
The much-awaited event is scheduled to kick off between December 21, 2018 to January 2, 2019.
As expected, eminent Nigerian women are all warming up to attend the epoch-making event.
Speaking on behalf of the Ooni of Ife, the Cultural Ambassador to Queen Moremi, Ronke Ademiluyi, said the 90-minute of dance, music, and drama will chronicle the memory of Queen Moremi.
Narrating further how she risked her life to end trafficking and enslavement of her people, especially women and children.
To herald the celebration, Ooni of Ife has appointed Bolanle Austen Peters productions to come up with a thriller theatre performance.
Part of the Ooni of Ife’s plans is to key into empowerment programmes strictly for victims of modern-day slavery and trafficking under the House of Oduduwa Foundation.
