Oshibote Oodua is the new leader of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC).
Oshibote emerged as the new national president following the death of its founder and national president, Fredrick Fasheun.
The new president was announced on Sunday at the Century Hotel, Okota, Lagos.
Several members of the group were seen at the hotel in their hundreds mourning the passage of their former leader.
Before the emergence of Oshibote, many had thought, Aare Gani Adams will be the next leader but Aare Gani still maintained his position as the National Coordinator.
Fasheun died last Saturday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. The late OPC leader died after a brief illness.
Oshibote was the close ally of Dr Fredrick Fasheun, the late national leader.
Among his followers, Oshibote was chosen by Fasheun as a preferred comrade to succeed him.
