Ahead of 2019 general election, Oyo State former governor, Rasheed Ladoja has dumped African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

Ladoja on Wednesday announced his defection from ADC and has also informed his supporters to move to the new party.

The former governor dumped the party over failure to change the deputy gubernatorial candidate, Saheed Alaran.

Ladoja after his defection said he does not have any personal issues with the ADC preferred candidate, Saheed Alaran becoming Oyo State deputy governor.

He noted that the party would not attract any vote in the region fielding wrong candidate.

Ladoja in his explanation stated that the whole of Oke Ogun would feel cheated because major slots such as federal and state lawmakers are already zoned to Iseyin.

After his impeachment in 2007, Ladoja has been hopping from one party to another to regain his political strength.

He was a staunch member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before decamping to Accord Party.

He later dumped Accord Party over irreconcilable differences with the party elders and joined the African Democratic Congress.

Many had thought Ladoja would prefer to work with ex-governor Olagunsoye and Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo who owns ADC but he surprised party faithful days back when he left the party for ZLP.
