The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission is likely to issue certificate of return to the winners in the July 22nd council elections at the LASIEC office today.

The council elections in the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area and Ojokoro Local Council Development Area mirrored the apathy of people to voting, as many refused to take part in the exercise.

There were 639,449 registered voters in both councils, but the total valid votes garnered from the councils by the candidates in question was the sum of 16,629 votes, a clear cut signal that the people did not fully exercise their voting power.

Hameed Idowu Tijani of APC polled 9699 to emerge winner, while PDP had 1256 votes. The electoral officer of Ojokoro, Mr.Davies Rahman, declared Hameed Tijani as the authentic winner of the chairmanship election in Ojokoro LCDA at the LASIEC office in Ojokoro.
