Julen Lopetegui has said it is easy managing the competition in Madrid’s goalkeeping position as opposed to what many on the outside think.

Madrid have two world-class goalkeepers in Courtois and Navas who have shared the gloves in various games across different competitions.

Some pundits have complained on the impact it could have on Madrid’s season but Lopetegui does not see any problem.

“They have both trained very well and it is a natural situation, that is more evident on the inside that can be seen from outside,” he told reporters.

“Everything is much simpler than what you want to see on the outside looking in.

“Football is not about a starting line-up. Everyone will be important, everyone will try to put into practice what we have been developing.”

Lopetegui who joined Madrid in the summer after leaving the Spanish national team job has reached a landmark of 100 days in charge.

“It seems like it has been very short because everything is going by very fast,” he admitted.

“I didn’t think it would be this quick but I hope to have many more days and that the team continues winning matches.

“Nothing is handed out until the end of the season but for this team, I’d give them a 10 in all aspects, especially in attitude and disposition.”

On Ronaldo’s red card against Valencia in the Champions League, the Spaniard refused to say much.

“That is more of a debate for you than it is for me,” he responded.

“I didn’t see it too well but everyone has told me that it wasn’t a red card.

“Sometimes these errors occur but logically, VAR helps you avoid these mistakes, although it isn’t up to me to talk about that.”
