The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man, Abdulahi Garba, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death over housekeeping allowance.
The suspect, according to The Guardian, was on Tuesday paraded along with 13 other suspects for offences including armed robbery, kidnapping, carjacking, and cattle rustling.
Garba confessed that it was during an argument over 4,000 naira housekeeping allowance that he stabbed his wife of 15 years, Falilat Saka Garba, at Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi state.
“On the particular day,” he told reporters, “she requested for N4,000 but I only managed to give her N 2,000 which did not go down well with her. This led to arguments and in the process, I stabbed her and she died from the injury sustained in her neck region.”
According to the State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Yahaya Abubakar, the suspect was arrested on the 30th of May by detectives from the Homicide section of Okehi police division in Okehi Local Government for the murder of his wife.
