From mug shot to runway! Ex-felon Jeremy Meeks makes NYFW debut

Two years after his mug shot went viral after the police posted it to Facebook, winning the hearts of women everywhere, ‘hot felon’ Jeremy Meeks, 33, made his New York Fashion Week debut in designer Philipp Plein’s show on Monday.

Meeks was arrested in 2014, and convicted of possessing an illegal firearm in 2015. While he was still behind bars, Meeks signed with a modeling agency.  Although he was sentenced to spend 27 months in prison, he was granted early release after serving about 12 months. Upon his release, he promptly signed to White Cross Management as a model.

Trading in his orange jumpsuit for designer threads, Meeks hit the runway donned in a black shirt, black pants, black boots, and a black puffer coat with a fur hood, alongside fellow show walkers (and rappers) Young Thug, Fetty Wap, and Desiigner. According to New York Magazine, the show was attended by a few big stars; seated in the front row were Kylie Jenner, Tiffany Trump, Madonna, and Paris Hilton.

It’s amazing where talents could be found. Indeed being an ex-con is no barrier for success.
