As Nigerians were busy jubilating and relishing the victory of the Super Eagles over European champions Iceland yesterday, Britain’s The Guardian Newspaper, however decided to use what is generally viewed as a racist and malicious headline, to report the thrilling encounter which ended in favour of the African country.

They also tweeted the malicious headline and it caught the attention of Nigerians on their timeline.
Trust Nigerians not to let that deliberate slip slide, they came all out on twitter to troll the paper and give the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the accolades that they deserve.

Meanwhile, some of these same Nigerians before the match did not have any hope or believed that Nigeria will win.
They demonstrated their unbelief by betting that Iceland would beat Nigeria.
Check out this funny instance. In the build-up to the game, Uber did a promo allowing customers to predict who wins between Nigeria and Iceland or if the match will end as a draw.
Surprisingly, as at 5:00am yesterday, the prediction for Iceland would win was closed which means more Nigerians thought Iceland would win.
The game however ended in favour of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a 2-0 thrilling encounter.
