Osinbajo Sends Ministerial Delegates on a Visit to Anambra Over Ozubulu killing

The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, is sending a five-man, federal Government delegation to Anambra State, to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the terror attack last Sunday in Ozubulu Ekwusigo local government area of the state. Resident of  Ozubulu, knew terror, like never before, when masked gun men stormed in the St. Philips Catholic Church in Ofufe- Amakwa in Ozubulu, sporadically shooting congregants.

The Senior Special Assistant to the acting president on media and publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja today, Saturday 12th August, 2017.

According to Akande, the delegation will include the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige;  the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama; the Minister of State for Environment, Ibrahim Jibril and the Minister of Education, Prof. Anthony Anwuka. He goes further to say the delegates will present a condolence letter from the Acting President to Governor Willie Obaino.

He added that Prof.  Osinbajo, in the letter, commiserates with the families and friends of victims of the Ozubulu terror attack and prays for the speedy recovery of the injured, who were still in the hospital.

According to him, the Acting President is vehemently condemning the attack, which has brought sorrow to family and friends of the victims.
“Such barbaric act constitutes an affront to our common humanity, and challenges, but will not overwhelm our collective resolve to rid our communities of all forms of violent crimes and criminality,” Akande quoted from Osinbajo’s letter to the Governor.
The Acting President said, the Federal Government, under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari remains undeterred, and is committed in its quest to ensure that proper resources, which will ensure the security of lives and property in Anambra state and across the country are readily deployed.

Osinbajo said he had instructed law enforcement agencies to bring perpetrators of the crime to justice without delay and he will remain involved with Obiano, the police authorities and appropriate security agencies, to ensure that the lives and property of citizens of the state and that of Nigerians are protected, wherever they may live.
