Members of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) recently staged a protest against the unlawful hijack of the institute and the unfair disengagement of the institute’s staff by the Tony Agenmonmen led Council. The protest, which was staged at the Centre for Management Development (CMD), CMD Road, Shangisha, Lagos, was peaceful. However, the protesters were quick to air their grievances.

A senior staff of the institute, Tunde Oyeyode, bemoaned the unfair treatment of the institute thus, “Some of us have worked with this Institute for over 30 years, we dedicated our lives, contributed our quota for the smooth running of this institute. That’s why we staged this peaceful protest, because we are not allowed to enter the institute. We are looking forward to your support in our quest in ensuring that justice is served.”

While fielding questions from journalists, Tony Agemonmen, President of NIMN, confirmed some members of staff were laid off as a result of the institute’s restructuring.
