Erstwhile Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has implored the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, and Former Minister of Environment Amina Mohammed to throw in the towel, and face criminal charges over alleged $300 million Rosewood scam.
In a documentary, Mrs. Mohammed was indicted, for playing a major role in the clearance of over 10,000 containers of illegally harvested logs of Timber worth $300 million.
It was stated in the report that the Chinese government in 2016 stopped the importation of the containers but in early 2017 over 4,000 CITES permits were issued by the Nigerian government, thus prompting the Chinese government to release the illegally imported goods into China.
The permits were allegedly signed by the ex-minister of Environment, Mohammed, shortly before she assumed her new role at the UN.
However, Fani-Kayode in a tweet on Friday described the action of Amina Mohammed as shameful and reprehensible.
He said thus: “Not only should she resign but she should also face criminal charges.
“She has now joined the league of APC thieves and looters. Shame!”
