Mr Tunde Ogunsakin, (rtd) the former Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of zone 12 comprising of Bornu, Yobe and Bauchi state Nigeria is set to unveil his latest effort “A Review of Effective Tax Regime in Nigeria”.
Ogunsakin after his retirement from the police force, delved into publishing and he has not ceased from publishing educative books.
The book launch is slated for Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos. We gathered that, the Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Babatunde Fowler, members of the Tax Board of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, including their Commissioners for Finance would be in attendance.
Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo we learnt would chairman the book launch, while Professor Abiola Sanni of the University of Lagos would be the first reviewer and the immediate past President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede would be the second reviewer.
Happenings gathered that, the major focus of the book is on the history of taxation in Nigeria, the problems and recommended solutions.
Ogunsakin said he was inspired by the experience he gathered during his 10 year service in intelligence and investigation, particularly while he was the Commissioner of Police in charge of Interpol.
