Yesterday, 6th of December 2017, the Aare Ona Kankafo designate of Yoruba land, Gani Adams received Ogun state Gubernatorial aspirant, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), in his Omole phase II residence.
After the visit, tongues began wagging with speculations, at the reason for his visit. While some say the courtesy visit by the Ogun state gubernatorial aspirant is not untoward as it is simply a courtesy visit to identify with the new generalissimo of the Yoruba race.
On the other side of the divide, are those who think the visit serves a political purpose, as the South West politician who is eyeing Ibikunle Amosun’s seat, come 2019, is seeking the chieftain’s support, to further his governorship ambitions.
However, a media aide to the Aare Ona Kankafo designate, has released a statement, on the Aare’s behalf in refutation of these rumours. He says GNI’s visit has no political undertone. In his own words “The visit was simply a courtesy visit, no political meaning should be attached to it. A lot of people have visited him as well”.
