Manchester City And Paris Saint-German should be sanctioned for cheating according to La Liga chief communications, Joris Evers.

City was found guilty of breaching FFP rules in 2014 but reached a £49m settlement with UEFA. Their Champions league squad for 2014-2015 was trimmed also.

German news magazine Der Spiegel accused the Citizens of using “creative solutions” to bypass FFP rules.

Stating also that FIFA president, Gianni Infantino assisted in the negotiations while he was Secretary General of UEFA.

City have rubbished the claims as a “clear and organized” attempt to damage their reputations.
But those in the Spanish league do not share these sentiments, with La Liga threatening to take legal action.
“Football Leaks documents [in der Spiegel] appear to confirm what we have been saying for years. Both PSG and Manchester City are cheating and should be sanctioned,” Evers said.

“We certainly hope Uefa will take the right decisions and enforce Financial Fair Play rules. But we don’t have full confidence that they will.

“Should Uefa fail to act, we will do what we have said before: launch a complaint with European Union competition authorities.”

Pep Guardiola in response has thrown his support behind his employers stating that he “trusts the club and what they have done”.

“I’m part of the club, I support the club. We want to do what we have to do in terms of the rules.” the Catalan added.

Manchester City has won the Premier League three times since Sheikh Mansour took over in 2008 including their record-breaking triumph last season.
