The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the 2019 African Nations Cup after their 1-1 draw against South Africa.

An Own goal in the 10th minute by Buhle Mkhwanazi gave the Eagles the lead off a Samuel Kalu strike.

The hosts equalized 16 minutes later when Mothilba finished after superb trickery by Percy Tau.

Nigeria are still top of Group E with 10 points with South Africa closely following with 9 points. Libya won 8-1 away from home in Seychelles to move up to 7 points and keep hopes alive.

The Eagles will be making a return to the championship after missing out on the last two tournaments after winning it in 2013.

The South Africans now need a draw in their last game away to the Libya to qualify. Libya however must win to get a slot at the tournament in Cameroon.
