1999 – “10 Things I Hate About You”, a modernization of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, is released

1727 – Isaac Newton, English physicist/astronomer, dies in London at 84

1996 – Actor and director Clint Eastwood (65) weds news anchor Dina Ruiz (30) in Las Vegas.

1985 – The first WrestleMania, the biggest wrestling event from the WWE (then the WWF), takes place in Madison Square Garden in New York City.

2004 – Google Inc. announced that it would be introducing a free e-mail service called Gmail.
