Veteran Broadcaster, Bimbo Oloyede, Plans Big For Husband’s Burial

One of Nigeria’s celebrated broadcasters, Bimbo Oloyede, has swung into action to give her late husband, Chief Tunde Oloyede a befitting burial later this month.

The high society is already bursting with excitement over the much anticipation for the party because Bimbo is known to be highly connected lady of means who is not known to do things in half measure. The Lagos crowd has started sewing aso ebi (ceremonial uniform) for the occasion while top a Juju maestro, is said to be getting set to thrill guests at the much awaited burial.

Tunde Oloyede, the producer and director of the defunct television drama series, Village Headmaster, died last year December. Aged 70, the ace producer was said to have died in his sleep at his residence in Festac Town, Lagos. His surviving beautiful wife, Bimbo Oloyede, who is a descendant of the Herbert Macaulay family; and a leading guest newscaster on Channels Television was shattered by the development because she never had premonition of his death. 

A brilliant film-maker, he is reputed to have produced 364 episodes of the TV series. Mr. Oloyede was also the former President of Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria. He was the producer/director of popular TV drama series, Tightrope, amongst several other productions.

Until his death, Oloyede ran his own production outfit, “Media International Production”.
