World Cup 2018: Nigeria Set to Meet Croatia in Epic Battle

It is the third day of the largest tournament in the universe, FIFA World cup 2018 in Russia, and Nigerians are anticipating the epic battle between the Super Eagles and Croatia, set for 8pm West African Time, today, June 16 2018.

Before this much anticipated clash today, France will meet Australia at 11 am; Argentina will battle with Iceland at 2 pm; Peru will face Denmark at 5pm. Leaving the Nigeria- Croatia match as the last match of the day at 8pm.

Although Nigeria and Croatia have never met at the senior level, they clashed in 2011 at the FIFA U20 world cup, with Nigeria beating Croatia 5-2. They also clashed in 2015 at the FIFA U17 world cup, with Croatia beating Nigeria, 2-1.

Thus, this is a match that many are unable to predict in what way the pendulum will swing, it is important the Super Eagles win this game, as the African teams at the world cup have not been impressive this far, Morocco lost its first match against Iran, with the score 1-0. Egypt lost its match against Uruguay, with 1-0.

If Nigeria wins the match against Croatia, it will make it the first African team to get a point in the first stage.

Good luck to the Super Eagles.
